Sit on our private beach or swim in the pristine waters of Moosehead Lake. Use one of our kayaks to paddle along the shoreline of this beautiful lake or up Moose River. Take your boat from our private docks for a ride on the most gorgeous lake in Maine.

The beautiful Moosehead Lake region is known as the Gateway to the Great North Maine Woods. This back-country area includes majestic mountains, island-dotted lakes, and indescribable natural scenery. Moosehad Lake is the largest lake in Maine; it is about 40 miles long and 20 miles wide, providing a very spacious playground for all outside activities. Moosehead has many inlets and bays; it is fed by scores of streams and smaller lakes. Its waters provide fishing enthusiasts with togue (lake trout), brook trout, and land-locked salmon known for their fighting qualities. Majestic Mount Kineo juts out of this beautiful lake; the sheer walls of this unusual stone formation rise above the water. Native American implements and weapons made from the flint found here have been discovered as far west as the Mississippi River. Moose and deer are sighted frequently while riding on the many back roads of this uninhabited area. Bird enthusiasts can spend many enjoyable hours spotting various species in their natural habitat.

What's Included?

Here at McIver’s Lakeshore Cottages there are modern conveniences that will appeal to relaxing family vacationers and to fishermen.  Both of our lake-front cabins have a front screened-in porch view of beautiful Moosehead Lake and Mount Kineo. They are fully equipped for housekeeping, accommodating from 1 to 5 people. Each immaculately clean cottage has a complete bath with shower and a fully-equipped kitchen. All linens and cooking utensils are provided.

Our lake-front cabins each have a picnic table with a gas grill for cooking outside on those hot summer days. Enjoy swimming in the clear waters of our private, sandy beach. Beside this beach is a lakeside fireplace for your evening enjoyment.

For our guests with a boat, there are private, protected docking facilities. What could be nicer than walking out of your cabin, hopping into your boat, and going for a day trip or fishing trip on Moosehead Lake?

Kayaks are provided for our guests who enjoy a peaceful paddle along the shoreline of Moosehead or up Moose River.
